AGILE RASCAL BIKE THEATRE
GHOST RIDE OR THE PLAY THAT BLOWS AWAY
PHILADELPHIA 2024
'GHOST RIDE or the play that blows away' is an immersive performance that puts the audience on bicycles, following a food delivery worker on the day they are killed by vehicular violence, and continues into the afterlife with them.
The piece is a love song to the bicycle that addresses issues of bicycle safety and transportation justice, as well as being a meditation on life and loss.
Audience members were each given a headset, in order to hear mic'd actors, soundscape and an original score, which our sound designer, Natali Merrill, live mixed from her tricycle, riding along with the audience.
The original score to GHOST RIDE was written by composer Jaren Feeley.

"Unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced, one of the most interesting pieces of theater I’ve ever seen. A timely, poignant, and surprising show. An incredible cast and crew, full of creativity and technical mastery. I was truly blown away."
"Absolutely stunning. The best show I've seen in Fringe so far. BRAVO. Gorgeous, heart-wrenching! A beautiful meditation on the deep value of a human life."

"Absolutely otherworldly. It's amazing how they transformed the bike path into an immersive stage, THEN proceeded to deliver an emotional connection to the victims of vehicular violence in Philly.
Everyone who rides in the city knows that death is incredibly close — so close we can almost see into the spirit realm. GHOST RIDE opened that veil and let us peek in. The heart of this play will be with me for a very long time."
